Monastery of St. Catherine one of the worlds oldest and a symbol of early Christianity.
The monastery was constructed in the fourth century on the place where the miracle-working bush, in which the Lord appeared to Moses, according to mythology, was burned. It was built by orthodox monks and is a famous symbol of Egypt's Christian heritage.
The Monastery of St. Catherine is a collection of structures that comprises a church, catacombs, a temple, and tombs.
The church is the complex's focal point and houses religious items such as a replica of the Icon of the Mother of God and the Madonna of Vladimir. The complex also has numerous museums, many of which house archaeological artifacts and objects dating back to early Christianity.
It is a UNESCO cultural heritage site and one of Egypt's most popular tourist destinations. Furthermore, it is a holy spot for all Christians because it represents God's first contact with Moses as well as the earliest Christian communities resurrected from apostolic times.
